Overview

Welcome to the Bringer of the Dawn website. Bringer of the Dawn is an endgame event linkshell that focuses on Sky/Sea/Salvage/ZNM/Dynamis/Limbus and Einherjar. HNMs are a small part of our shell and we rarely do them. BotD was established so that friends and players with common interests would have a place to call home. As a family, we strive for excellence in the areas of Sky, Sea, Cop missions, Zilart missions and any other missions coming from the Final Fantasy Database.

Sky Rules

  1. Sky is based on a point system so that everyone who actively participates in sky "raids" is able to receive their just reward.
  2. Points are updated once a week, usually on Thursday. Points received after the point page is updated cannot be used for that weeks run.
  3. When we do both gods and Kirin, the bidding is separate. You may only bid on one item per god and one Kirin item.
You can only receive 1 item from all 4 of the gods.
      1. If your item drops, you are done. This is to keep high point people from getting everything.
      2. If your item does not drop, you may bid a new item on the next god. Only exception is an item that drops off more than 1 god. i.e. Divine Log, etc.
    1. Gods and Kirin are seperate.
  4. Item bidding will be conducted before the run. If you know you will be late, you may send me a message on the forum with your intention and how many points you are willing to use.
  5. If more than one person bids on an item, you must outbid them in increments of 100.
  6. If two people want an item and neither want to outbid each other, then you must random for the item. You may not change your mind after it drops and try to outbid them.
  7. Non Rare/Ex items not bid on by anyone will be auctioned off for points. A LS Auction post will be made in the "Event Sales" forum. You can post your intention to bid on an item by PM through the forums, after this post is made.
  8. Items not wanted during the LS Auction will be held on to until someone bids on them. If enough items aren't being used, they will be crafted into useful items that will be auctoined.
  9. Individual God dropped items and how many points they are worth can be found on their respective pages in the Sky Database menu on the left.
  10. Items from sky runs fall into 3 categories, rare and rare/ex and money.

Rare Items

  1. These include highly sought after items like Kirin's Osode.
  2. Currently Kirin's Osode is only lotable by members that have jobs capable of using it and are level 70+.
  3. These items are not to be sold.

Rare/Ex Items

  1. These items include Abjurations and Weapons.
  2. You can only lot on them if you have a job capable of using them and it is level 70+.
  3. If nobody needs a dropped rare/ex item or it was not bid for, you may open lot for it. Open lots are on a random basis and you cannot try to outbid anyone. If you win the item, you will be deducted the minimum point bid for that item. You may only have one open lot item, unless nobody else wants it.
  4. If a rare/ex item is auto-sorted to you, you get charged base points.

Money Items

  1. These are all of the non-rare/ex items. Currently all sellable items (Hides, Cloths, Bone items, etc) are lottable to anyone for money items. In the past we prioritized them to certain people but we've decided this excludes too many other active members from lotting.
  2. All other gear items cannot be sold for money (i.e. Kirin's Osode).
  3. Once you receive a money item, you may not receive another until there are no new people lotting on it. This keeps high point rollers from locking out money items.
  4. BotD administration reserves the right to modify this list at any time. It is your responsibility to keep up with current rules.

Lotting System

When doing a a run that requires lotting, the intentions are taken by another member of the ls. These intentions follow the rules listed below.
  1. When sending the intentions person a /tell for bidding on an item, you must know what ONE item you wish to bid on and the MAXIMUM points you wish to spend. If you need to know how many points you have, they will tell you based on the website's most updated points. But you have to tell them the maximum points you are willing to spend right off the bat for the item you want.
  2. They will not:
    • Tell you the current highest bid of the item you are bidding
    • Tell you who is bidding against you
    • Tell you how many bidders are bidding on an item
    • Tell you what items are or are not bid on
    • Let you raise your initial maximum bid
    • Bid for any other item other than your initial item

So basically, you put in 1 bid and that's it. i.e. If you tell them "V.Claw, maximum 300 points." and your 300 points are outbid, It doesn't matter if you have 1000 total points, you will not be allowed to raise your maximum bid and you will lose. This is no big deal, all you guys have to do is simply decide what item you want the most on that run and what you really want to pay. No changing your mind at the last minute. The only thing you may do is retract your initial bid completely - which will strike out your bid as if it was not placed (hence possibly lowering the winner's winning bid, if you were in 2nd place). If you retract, you may not bid another item so it's up to you if you wanna be nice or not (play nice guys and girls).
  3. You may raise your maximum bid only if you and the other highest bid/bidders bid the same maximum amount. In which case, I'll simply ask you for a new higher maximum. This will continue until someone wins.
  4. If you have been absent from the LS, non-participative (as in, earning 0 points for weeks straight), quit the LS, and/or absent from FFXI you will become inactive. Upon return from a long period of inactivity for whatever reason, you will not be allowed to bid for items until you become active again.
  5. Deleted points due to quitting the LS, etc. will not be reinstatted.
